THE PERSONAL INFORMATION WE COLLECT will depend on the type of communication or transaction .The personal information we may collect may include but is not limited to: name, postal address to include Post Code, telephone number, organization or business name, e-mail address, credit card, bank information or billing information.
WHERE AND WHEN WE COLLECT PERSONAL INFORMATION
You may be asked to provide personal information such as, when using third-party applications such as in making donations, in the overall participation and use of The Slate Board, and as described in this Privacy Policy. We may also collect various technical information such as browser type, operating system, CPU type, internet connection, Internet protocol address (IP address); geographical location, and the domain name of your Internet service provider (ISP).
We do not share your data with our advertiser-supported services, nor do we mine it for marketing or advertising. If you leave the service, we take the necessary steps to ensure you maintian continued ownership of your data.
WE DO NOT KNOWINGLY COLLECT INFORMATION FROM MINOR CHILDREN (Under 16 years of age)
The The Slate Board platform is intended for a General Audience. Therefore, we do not knowingly collect or solicit personal information from anyone under the age of 16, nor do we knowingly allow such persons to provide us with their personal information. If you are under 16 years old, do not send any information about yourself, including but not limited to: photos, your name, address, telephone number or e-mail address. In the event we find that we have collected personal information from anyone under the age of 16, we will delete that information, immediately. INFORMATION SECURITY
TSB has established safeguards to help protect your personal information, but cannot guarantee that your personally identifiable information will never be disclosed in a manner inconsistent with this privacy policy. For example, as a result of unauthorized acts by third-parties that violate applicable law. To protect your privacy, TSB will require you to input your password to verify your identity before access is granted and before you can make revisions or corrections to your personal information. The Slate Board’s executives and staff encourage everyone accessing our platform to use a Unique Password (consider using asterisks or like symbols in combination with a number) when signing up for your The Slate Board account. We strongly advise that you DO NOT use passwords that are used for other accounts (e.g., bank accounts, insurance accounts, other social networking sites, etc.). Also, TSB encourages our members to change their passwords every 90 (ninety) days to ensure online safety and security. All online transactions are done on a secure server. Information entered on the transaction page is encrypted using SSL (Secure Socket Layer) before transmission. On secure pages, a ‘locked’ lock symbol is displayed on your browser next to the website address (URL) in the address bar, starting with https:// instead of http://
The Slate Board uses “ReCaptcha,” a feature that ensures you are a human and not a robot. This extra layer of security enhances TSB’s ability to provide a more secure site for our members.
EXCEPTIONS
TSB reserves the right to share your personal information in certain situations
1) Credit Card Transactions, Electronic Fund Transfers, Payments by Check or Money Order and Online Transactions. TSB uses third-parties to provide credit card, bank, payment and information processing services. If you choose to make a payment online, by phone, through the mail or by other means, we will share your personal information with our processing service providers (e.g., Authorize.net). While we believe these other companies will treat your personal information responsibly, we do not own or control them and cannot guarantee your privacy.
2) Necessity. If we have reason to believe that there has been some inappropriate interference with or use of our website, communications, or charitable services, or if we have reason to believe that one of the TSB website users, donors, employees or other related parties may have been injured or may have harmed some other party, we will disclose, without notice to you, your personal information as we deem appropriate or if compelled by a legal or regulatory authority. COOKIES AND PIXELS
A “cookie” is a small piece of data that is sent to your browser from TSB web server and stored on your computer’s hard drive. Cookies are used to collect non-identifying information about the user, such as Web surfing behavior or user preferences for a specific website. TSB uses two different types of cookies – session-based and persistent cookies. Session-based cookies expire at the end of a browser session, once you close your browser the cookie simply terminates. Persistent cookies remain on your computer until you remove them. This form of cookies is used to provide internal website analytics. You can manually delete all cookies including, persistent cookies, within your browser privacy settings menu. Also, TSB uses “pixels,” or transparent GIF files, to help manage online advertising. These pixels do not collect identifying information.
WEBSITE LINKS
To provide certain services and goods on the TSB platform, we contract with other companies and individuals. These additional services and goods may include links to other websites from our website. TSB privacy policy and practice may not be applicable at third-party sites. Anytime you leave the TSB website, we have no control regarding what information may be collected, nor do we control what third-parties might do with the information. It is important that you review any privacy policies on third-party sites carefully BEFORE using any services or programs offered.
CHANGES TO PRIVACY PRACTICES
From time to time, TSB may revise its privacy practices to address changing technology, security measures, and website functionality. We strive to provide you with timely notice of these changes. Please contact us if you have any questions about changes to our practices.
If you use TSB communication tools to disclose information about yourself publicly, for example, in chat rooms or online message boards made available by TSB’s,other online users may obtain access to any information you provide. The contents of your online communications, and other information about you the user may be accessed and disclosed in response to legal process. For example, a court order, search warrant or subpoena and in other circumstances in which TSB or its subsidiaries is being used in the commission of a crime; when in good faith we determine that there is an emergency that poses a threat to the safety of you or another person; or when necessary either to protect the rights or property of TSB, the Network or its accredited programs or third-party providers, or for us to render the service you have requested.
TSB may use agents and contractors to help operate the Network. If such agents and contractors have access to personally identifiable information for reasons such as, but not limited to; assisting law enforcement efforts under a warrant/subpoena, maintenance, and/or operational reasons they are required to protect this information in a manner that is consistent with this privacy policy, and while operating under a signed non-disclosure agreement with The Slate Board.
